A man was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for shoplifting at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 30.
Paul Clark, 42, of no fixed abode from the Luton area, who has previous convictions for shoplifting, was spotted by plain-clothed police officers in Wilkinsons and Boots on Friday, November 29.
He was searched and found to be in possession of cosmetics to the value of £276.
Sergeant Lee Hammond, who leads the St Albans Shoplifting team, said: “Shoplifting financially harms businesses and residents of St Albans. My team will continue to robustly deal with anyone committing acquisitive crimes against businesses in St Albans, London Colney and Harpenden.”
