A Heritage Open Day is set to take place at a church in Sarratt that has stood for more than 800 years.
Holy Cross Church has been a place of Christian worship in the village for centuries, with the present church building opening in 1190, during the reign of Richard the Lionheart.
From 11am to 5pm on Saturday, September 16, the church will be opening its doors to take part in the Heritage Open Day festival, a series of events held by volunteers at various locations across the country, all focused on celebrating history and culture.
A spokesperson for the church said: “Light refreshments will be served at church. If you would like to eat, please consider booking a table at The Cock Inn, opposite the church.
“Please follow the signs on the day for church car parking as it will be in a nearby field.”
