A woman has died after a van fleeing police was involved in a collision on the M25.
Yesterday morning (Sunday, February 4), at around 4am, the motorway was closed between Junctions 22 (London Colney) and 21A (North Orbital Road/St Albans) following a road traffic collision.
Police officers had been involved in a pursuit of a van which then collided with three other vehicles.
A police spokesperson said: “No police vehicles were involved in the collision and the pursuit had been stood down prior to the collision.
“A woman has sadly passed away and her family are being supported by specially trained officers.
“As a matter of course, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.”
The road was closed for most of the day and reopened at 10pm.
