BIG IMPACT: Two Northwick Park nurses honoured with Rising Star awards

Published on: 25th January 2026   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

You do not need to look to the night sky to find rising stars, as two of them are shining near Pinner at Northwick Park Hospital.

Both nurses received Rising Star Awards from the Royal College of Nursing for their contribution to the profession within the Black and Asian community.
Naveen Harikumar, from the stroke unit, was recognised for his dedication to supporting newly arrived overseas nurses.
Drawing on his own experiences, he provided practical and emotional support to help colleagues settle into NHS life.
He said: “I’ve been there myself, so I know how overwhelming it can be and have developed an orientation pack if people want to talk.”
Katherine Saeb was also honoured for her work, which included a secondment to a surgical ward.
She led initiatives focused on staff wellbeing and patient safety, including a Quiet Room for staff and #TimeToTurn, an alarm system to help prevent pressure sores.
This initiative was presented at the national Professional Nurse Advocate Conference last November.
Both nurses were praised for leadership, innovation, and commitment to improving care.
