A man has been jailed over assault and possession of an imitation firearm.
Cameron Lewis, 28, of Hazelwood Lane, Abbots Langley, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment at St Albans Crown Court on February 22. He had been found guilty of assaulting a person causing actual bodily harm and possessing an imitation firearm.
Lewis was arrested on August 25 last year after police searched an address in Hazelwood Lane in connection with an altercation. Officers recovered an imitation gun.
The altercation, which took place six days earlier, involved a man in his 20s being assaulted in Gable Close after leaving the SPAR supermarket in School Mead. His mobile phone and cash were stolen and his trousers were slashed during the assault.
The victim ran to Long Elms where a woman aged in her 40s, who was known to him, came to his aid in a vehicle. The altercation continued, which resulted in the vehicle being damaged. The victim was subjected to further assault, leaving him with bruising. The female victim was also assaulted, leaving her with cuts and bruising to her face.
