BYE BRAD: Hemel Hempstead Town FC manager departs after losing streak

Published on: 26th March 2024   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hemel Hempstead Town FC announced the departure of manager Brad Quinton after a run of five losses in six games.

Quinton joined the club in December 2022 and oversaw 67 competitive games.

Poor form saw The Tudors slide down the National League South table, with the club situated in 17th position.

The club made a statement on March 5: “The club would like to express its gratitude to Brad and his management team for their service and contributions during their time at the club. We are naturally disappointed it hasn’t worked out for all involved and we would like to wish them all the very best in their future careers.”

The club continued that it was aware that injuries had “undoubtedly” contributed to the downward turn in results and extended its gratitude towards Quinton and his team for nurturing and integrating youth players into the first team.

Alan Dowson has now taken over for the rest of the season as interim manager.

The club said: “Alan will be providing his invaluable support to the club on a voluntary basis, prioritising a strong finish to the season. With his extensive experience managing numerous games in the National League South, including involvement in the current campaign with Dartford, Alan brings immediate knowledge of opponents to the team.”

Dowson’s first match at the helm ended in a 1-0 defeat against Eastbourne Borough on Saturday, March 9.
