BARKING BRILLIANT: New canine colleagues join in with Chorleywood fundraising initiative

Published on: 22nd July 2024   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A local business recently held a special dog-friendly celebration as part of a fundraising initiative for a Chorleywood charity.

Most people have heard of Bring Your Child to Work Day, but one company, Minerva IT Services in Potters Bar, went a step further by allowing employees to bring their dog into the office for a day.

This was in return for a donation to Mission EmployAble, the Chorleywood-based charity that provides employment opportunities for adults with learning difficulties.

Minerva opened its doors to canine friends of all shapes and sizes for the Paws For a Cause Day in June and raised more than £200 for the charity.

Victoria Livingston, the marketing manager for Minerva, explained how she came up with the idea.

She told Chorleywood News: “I am always looking for new ways to help the community.

“When I heard that Minerva director and Chorleywood Cricket Club member John Chadwick was involved with Mission EmployAble’s dog-friendly café in Chorleywood, I came up with Paws For a Cause.”
