CAN YOU HELP? Police issue appeal for witnesses after robbery in Harpenden

Published on: 2nd July 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives investigating a robbery in Harpenden are appealing for witnesses and information.

On Wednesday, June 9, at around 9.10pm, the victim was walking along Carlton Road, towards Station Road, when he was approached by an unknown male.

The man reportedly pushed the victim against a car, before stealing his bag.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

Detective Constable Lewis Allingham, who is investigating, said: “This was an aggressive and unprovoked attack on a teenager, who understandably has been left shaken up following the incident. I know that some time has passed since the robbery took place, but we are ensuring that we follow all possible lines of enquiry.

“We believe that there were several people in the area who may have witnessed the incident taking place – the victim reported that an adult woman and two young girls were nearby at the time of the robbery. We would like to speak to them, as they could have information to help us progress this investigation.

“It was also reported that a man believed to be in his 60s drove past the scene in a grey Range Rover, and may well have seen the altercation taking place. If this was you, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.

“Alternatively, if you have any information that you think could assist with our enquiries, please get in contact.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Allingham directly via email at lewis.allingham@herts.pnn.police.uk.

You can report information online, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/43074/21.
