Staff at a Stanmore school have been left shocked after a milk delivery was stolen.
Stanburn Primary School has fallen victim to thieves who stole 24 crates of Muller semi-skimmed milk from outside the gates on Abercorn Road.
The incident happened just after 6.45am on Wednesday, June 26, when the milk was delivered to the Old School House. By 6.52am when the site manager went to collect the milk, it was gone.
Ms E. D’Souza, the headteacher at Stanburn Primary School, told STANMOREnews: “It is so disheartening that a member of the public feels it is okay to steal milk.
“The milk delivery, worth approximately £100, was intended for the children and meant that on one of the hottest days of the year, they were left without their milk supply.”
A Metropolitan Police said: “We can confirm we received a report of the alleged theft of milk bottles from outside a school in Abercorn Road, Stanmore.
“A number of enquiries were carried out, but these were exhausted and the investigation was subsequently closed.
“Should further information come forward, this will be reviewed.”
