Northwood’s winless run continued on Tuesday night with an away point against Hanwell Town, despite one of their best performances of the season.
The Woods are now without a win in their last five outings in all competitions but will take a point against what was a solid Hanwell side.
Reece Yorke went close to getting the opening goal for Northwood inside the first five minutes of the game when he was found from a corner but could only head wide of the mark.
The home side had their first real chance of the game on the 20th minute mark after Al Droubi did well to deny Ogo Obi’s effort, before Dave Thomas cleared the ball off the line.
The breakthrough came for Hanwell on the cusp of half time after a fortunate break allowed Ogo Obi to beat Al Droubi this time and fire the ball into the back of the net.
The Woods could have considered themselves unfortunate to have been behind at the break, but just under 10 minutes after the restart they found themselves back on level terms thanks to good link up play between George Isaac and Aaron Morgan allowed Isaac the coolly finish beyond the goalkeeper.
The home side were putting Northwood under a lot of pressure during the latter stages of the game, but they defended resolutely and heroically to ensure they took a point from the game.
Despite the winless run continuing, they have ended their losing streak and will now look forward to the weekend where they face another away trip, this time to Waltham Abbey on Saturday afternoon.
