Chalfont St Peter’s disappointing start to the season continued on Tuesday night with another away defeat, this time at the hands of Bedfont Sports.
The home side took the lead for the first time after 30 minutes, but the Saints managed to peg them back from the penalty spot through Sydney Ibie, but Bedfont regained the lead once more in the second half and held on for all three points.
The Saints were coming off the back of a disappointing 4-0 away defeat against Bracknell Town and despite performing reasonably well in the first 30 minutes of this game, the host’s goal came not long after through Daniel Opoku-Boateng.
It didn’t take long for the visitors to bounce back though when they were awarded a penalty five minutes later which Ibie tucked away nicely to level procedures.
However, Bedfont regained the lead on the hour mark, this time through Scott Weight.
It’s looking bleak at the moment for the Saints who sit one place above the bottom of the table, with just one victory in their first five league games.
Despite being back at home next time out, it doesn’t get much easier as they welcome third placed Hanwell Town to Mill Meadow on Saturday afternoon.
