‘ARTISTIC VOICE’: Kings Langley artist launches drawing sessions to help connect the community

A Kings Langley artist has launched drawing sessions to help people who enjoy art to reconnect with their passions.

On Saturday, March 22, Ruby Lewis held her first event at the former Rudolf Steiner School, which brought together both seasoned artists and beginners with a budding interest in drawing.

In each session, Ruby will set the drawing subject and give a short demonstration, before participants can dive into drawing.

Sessions are not a class but a chance for residents to “explore their artistic voice”.

Speaking to KINGSnews, Ruby said: “The reason I wanted to do it is for people who really enjoy drawing but don’t find the time to do it.

“Drawing is a wonderful way to take your mind off of everything with no stress and the sessions will be a really lovely way to bring people together.

“I want to help give people a confidence to have an artistic and creative voice in their own work. It’s a lovely feeling and achievement, feeling like they have been developing a creative spark in themselves.”

Ruby will be holding the drawing sessions every other week and provides all the materials, but participants are welcome to bring their own.
