A man has been charged and remanded following a theft from a motor vehicle in Watford.
Officers were called just before 1.10pm yesterday (Monday, January 27), to report a man who had broken into a vehicle and took a bag in Holywell Road.
It was also reported that the suspect had entered Wenzels in Vicarage Road and took items without attempting to pay for them.
Following enquiries, officers traced the suspect and arrested him in Vicarage Road. The bag that had been reported as stolen was recovered and returned to its owner.
George Mitchell, 27, of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with theft from a motor vehicle and theft from a shop.
He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, January 28), where he pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £150 in fines and compensation.
