ZOMBIE INVASION: Legendary homegrown rock band to return to St Albans for festival

Published on: 29th September 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Rock and roll legends The Zombies will return to St Albans for a festival next month.

The band first met at The Blacksmiths Arms in St Albans in 1961 and their big break came after they won a competition organised by Watford Borough Council in 1964.

Only a few years later, the band joined The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who as British bands who were tasting success in the USA. In 2013, they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Now, The Zombies are returning to their home city for the second annual Begin Here Festival from Friday, November 8, to Sunday, November 10.

Events will include an art gallery, drum workshop, jazz brunch, battle of the bands, and meet and greets with The Zombies themselves.

The Zombies are also running a competition in the build up to this year’s Begin Here Festival. They are looking for an independent artist to enter a submission of their music with a chance to win £1,000. The winner will be announced on the final day of the festival.

To buy tickets, visit the festival’s website.
