Berkhamsted FC have announced the trial dates for their new Southern League Football Academy (SLFA) team.
The club will be offering students between 16 and 18 the opportunity to study for a BTEC in Sport Level 3 qualification, train every day with an UEFA qualified coach and play in the SLFA League with opportunities to play in the FA Youth Cup.
The Berkhamsted Education and Football Academy is an alternative to college and is ideal for any aspiring footballers who wish to gain a great education and develop as a footballer at the same time.
Trials will be held Ashlyns School, Chesham Road, Berkhamsted on Wednesday, February 19 from 1pm to 2.30pm.
Trialists are advised to bring training kit, shin pads, boots suitable for a 3G surface and a drink.
Vice chairman of the club, Benny Mitchell, said: “The programme has been going for six years in other areas and has been a huge success as an introduction to university. The course doesn’t just cover football, it also covers things relating to sport, like media, physiotherapy, journalism etc. it’s not just kicking a ball around for two years.”
