Watford FC manager Nigel Pearson has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for the second time in a row, as the Hornets’ revival continued in January.
Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup against League One side Tranmere Rovers, the club’s Premier League form remained strong with two wins and a draw from four games.
Watford beat Wolves at home at the start of the month, which was then followed by a convincing 3-0 away win at Bournemouth, who also find themselves at the wrong end of the table.
Pearson went to battle with Jose Mourinho when Watford welcomed Spurs to Vicarage Road, and a Troy Deeney penalty miss proved costly for The Hornets, although they still managed to take a point away.
The month ended disappointingly though, with fellow strugglers Aston Villa coming from behind against them to win, with a last-minute Tyrone Mings goal breaking the hearts of the Watford faithful.
Pearson is nominated alongside Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhutl.
