Wealdstone FC dismantled Farnborough with a 5-0 away victory to book themselves a place in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round.

The Stones win was never in doubt yesterday (Saturday September 21) at Cherrywood Road  – Dennon Lewis scored a goal sandwiched between a Ross Lafayette brace in the first half before Jacob Mendy and Sanchez Watt’s second half strikes sealed the victory in the second half.

The game lacked chances in the first quarter before good work from Lewis on the left made it easy for Lafayette to break the deadlock after half-an-hour.

Wealdstone’s lead was doubled 10 minutes later when Lewis produced a bulletof a strike which curled into the top corner.

The half-time lead was extended for the Stones before the interval when Lafayette headed in Danny Green’s corner at the far-post.

The second half was more of the same from Wealdstone, who made it four courtesy of a great strike from substitute Mendy just after the hour mark.

With a minute left, Watt got his first goal for the club when he flicked on Mendy’s half-volley to seal a convincing victory for the away side.
