Who’s bin a good boy then?

Published on: 25th July 2018   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Uncategorized

Every Wednesday, little Roman Matthews waits excitedly for the bin men to visit his home in Mill End.

The three-year-old looks forward to coming out and watching them, sometimes wearing his own hi vis jacket. Then he goes to his nan and grandads while mother Bethany is at work and talks to them there too.

When he celebrated his birthday last month, he couldn’t wait to tell his friends.

As he bade farewell for another week, Roman didn’t know they would be back much sooner than that – and with a gift to mark his special day.

Bethany said Roman was delighted with the toy bin lorry and revealed he now carries it everywhere with pride.

She said: “They always say hello and chat to him which is the highlight of his week. He is the happiest little boy in the world right now. A small gesture of kindness from them meant a great deal to him he was so excited.

“His dad is a mechanic so he just loves anything to do with diggers, trucks or cars. We were really thankful to the bin men he was just so happy and it was lovely to see.”
