The incident took place on July 14 at around 4.20pm while the victim, an 88 year old woman, was in her car in The Crescent near Saint Saviour’s Church, when a man approached the passenger side of the vehicle and knocked on the window.

He opened the door door asking for directions before taking her handbag and made off in a vehicle towards Bedmond Road.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any other information should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/17570/18.
