A non-profit organisation has criticised local litterers after helping to clear a large fly tip in Pinner.
On social media, Keep It Clean London shared several images of dumped rubbish on Cannon Lane, including clothes, food items, and even a pair of mugs with the words ‘I love you, my love’ printed on them.
The post confirmed that the rubbish had been reported to Harrow Council, who said they could not do anything as the litter had been left on land not owned by the council.
George Bit, from Keep It Clean London, told Pinnernews: “Back roads, which are often orphaned land, are extremely alluring as a fly tipping destination, which causes much misery and frustration to residents and law-abiding businesses.
“I’ve cleared fly tips from this spot on a number of occasions, but this was by far the worst incident I’ve tackled, clocking in at around 30 bags of rubbish that took three hours to fully investigate and clear.”
