Watford man in murder probe after pedestrian hit in Wiltshire

A young man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a collision on the A303 on Friday, June 21.

At approximately 4.50pm on Friday a car was in collision with a man on the A303 Amesbury, Wiltshire.

The vehicle involved failed to stop.

Sadly, a 63-year-old man, who was taken to hospital by air ambulance, died in the early hours of yesterday morning, June 23.

Following investigations by Wiltshire Constabulary, a 23-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station in Swindon.

Det Supt Julie Mackay who is leading the investigation said: “We would like to speak anyone who may have seen this collision on Friday.

“This is a very busy road and I believe there would have been a number of drivers and road users who would have seen this incident.

“Also, if you have any dash-cam footage of this please come forward.”
