WATER DAMAGE: Councillors hold meeting to share concerns about flooding in Croxley

Published on: 15th November 2024   |   By: Ellie Rose   |   Category: Uncategorized

County councillors held a meeting on Tuesday, October 15, to discuss the flooding issues in Croxley amid concerns from all parties.

As reported in last month’s CROXLEYnews, plans were recently approved to reduce flooding through the building of an additional channel near Scotsbridge. However, before the work is completed, heavy rain continues to cause chaos for residents.

While Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) shared it has “a responsibility to tackle elements of flooding”, it is also urging residents to “be proactive and engage with flood prevention” by reporting any floods or damages.

Liberal Democrat councillor Chris Lloyd, who has reported flooding issues on three separate roads, said: “I have been pushing for several years to get the different groups to talk to each other.

“I will continue to push HCC to spend more. Clearing drains and, in some cases, larger projects will be required.”

Residents are also asked to report any property damage caused by flooding at www.t.ly/61vz0

HCC has been contacted for comment.
