A Stanmore resident is set to release a book telling the story of his father’s experiences during the Second World War.
Gary Italiaander delighted in the fascinating and amusing stories told to him by his father, Michael Italiaander, who was the youngest British war artist in the Second World War. Gary felt it was important to capture these memories for their historic content, and so he created a book, titled My Father’s War, which also records his parents’ amazing love story.
My Father’s War is beautifully illustrated with many of Michael’s stunning paintings and cartoons.
The book will be published in paperback on Monday, May 22. There will also be a Kindle version available.
Later this year, as a continuing part of his father’s legacy, Gary will publish a coffee table book with a large selection of Michael Italiaander’s paintings, illustrations and cartoons. This will be available by the end of 2023.
