Hemel Hempstead residents are invited to take part in a virtual marathon to raise money for charity.
Starting from when the Olympic flame arrives in Paris on May 8 and finishing in time for the Opening Ceremony in July, the idea is for participants to walk, run, cycle, scoot, wheel or swim 42km.
The event was organised by Lucas Oliver and Ruby Foulkes from Hemel Hempstead School. Funds raised will help the duo volunteer on a wildlife conservation and community development project with Camps International.
Local small business Boxmoor Yoga is supporting the event, and local charity One Impossible Thing is also involved as the charity partner.
Fiona Foulkes, Lucas’ mother and founder of One Impossible Thing, said: “We know that getting outside and being active is good for our mental and physical health. Sometimes we just need a bit of extra motivation to help us do it!”
Entry costs £10. For further information and to register for the event, go to boxmooryoga.wixsite.com/boxmoor-marathon
