Leaders from Girlguiding Radlett District lead a group of 75 young people in Hillwalking, Cycling, Climbing and Caving in the Peak District of Derbyshire last month.
Nicola Day, District Leader, told RadlettNews: “Brownies in two of our local units are developing their ‘speaking out’ skills in the difficult debate about removing an old but not particularly pretty holly tree (with plans to replant three further trees) versus creating a better space for the girls themselves to access outdoor activities. We are proud that our girls are able to ‘speak out’ and put their environment before themselves!”
Girlguiding Radlett is on the lookout for new leaders to support the 185 current young members and to accommodate the many young people who are on the waiting list. Activities are underway within Girlguiding to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee and County Guide Beacon lighting events.
