Golden Memories, a project designed to support those living with dementia and their carers, is set to continue after receiving new funding.
Run by Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust, the project offers free 90-minute sessions to boost attendees’ mental and physical health, while providing a respite area for carers.
Funding was made available from the Sky Bet EFL Building Foundations Fund, which has awarded nine EFL Club charities with a share of £520,000 to support community-focused initiatives.
Rob Smith, the trust’s community director, said: “We are delighted to be receiving funding from the Sky Bet EFL Building Foundations Fund.”
Thanks to the new funding, the project will be able to continue for at least another two years.
Mr Smith added: “We are extremely grateful to be receiving this support at such an important time.”
The sessions are held in the Sensory Room at Vicarage Road Stadium every week during term time. Find out more at www.t.ly/Rh5R7
