UNLUCKY RESULT: Hemel Town settle for 1-1 draw against Eastbourne

Published on: 26th October 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Hemel Hempstead Town F.C

Hemel Hempstead Town secured a point this afternoon (October 26) against Eastbourne Borough who clawed their way back into the game to earn a point.

The rain was pouring down at Vauxhall Road and The Tudors appeared to be in their element, as they had the better chances in the first half.

Despite all their efforts on goal, The Tudors went into the dressing room at half time with the scoreline goalless.

The Tudors continued their good run of form on the pitch as Liam Nash fired home a well-placed goal past The Sports keeper in the 48th minute.

Eastbourne were on the back foot for the majority of the game until the 60th minute when their quick actions following The Tudors losing possession resulted in Greg Luer scoring the equaliser.

Goalscorer Liam Nash tweeted after the game: “Just goes to the show the expectations we set as a team to be disappointed with a point. Horrible conditions but massive thanks to the fans that stood out in the cold to support us, you really make a difference. Always nice to get another goal too.”

Next week (Saturday, November 2), Hemel Town will travel to first team manager Sammy Moore’s former club Concord Rangers for what will be an interesting tie.
