Kings Langley progress into the next qualifying round of the FA Trophy after a thrilling 5-3 victory over Phoenix Sports Club.

It was a goal frenzy in the first half which saw seven of the eight goals scored in the first half hour of the match, including two for Langley’s top goalscorer Mitchell Weiss.

Phoenix scored in under a minute, then Langley’s Kane Farrell scored the equaliser just minutes later and then Phoenix grab their second thanks to Ben Allen to make it 2-1.

Kings Langley had a penalty saved in the seventh minute which was followed up by Louie Collier who put The Lango level after 15 minutes.

On 18 minutes, Kane Farrell whipped in a corner which was met with the leaping head of Mitchell Weiss who managed to slot it into the back of the net. After this goal, the match starts to calm down and some order is restored in the match.

On the 40 minute mark, Kane Farrell, who put in a man of the match performance, grabbed his second assist as Mitchell Weiss puts his second goal into the net.

The Lango then gave away a penalty in the 44th minute which was converted by Phoenix’s Harry Harding.

An exciting first half ends Phoenix 3-4 Kings Langley.

The game goes a bit quiet in the second half until Kings score their fifth and final goal of the game by Max Hercules to finish the match off at 5-3.

Kingls Langley now progress into the next round of the FA Trophy. Their next game is away to Bromsgrove Sporting FC – who sit above them in the table – in the Southern Central Division on Tuesday, October 29.
