TREE TALK: Croxley councillors lobby for tree maintenance on residential road

Published on: 6th August 2023   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two district councillors are campaigning for better tree maintenance and repairs for a residential road in Croxley.

Liberal Democrat councillors Paul Rainbow and Chris Lloyd, of Dickinsons and Durrants Wards respectively, have been working to improve the conditions on Dickinson Avenue and Dickinson Square.

Recently, the pair have been out and about informing residents of an ongoing postal consultation from Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) on how they would like the trees in these areas to be maintained.

Cllr Lloyd said: “I hand delivered the letters so I can speak to the residents to encourage them to respond. The next step will be to get HCC to fund [the maintenance].

“It is unacceptable that some of the houses in Dickinson Square have the light blocked by branches.

“I am also pushing for HCC to redo the pavements in Dickinson Avenue in the current financial year.”

Earlier this month, cllr Rainbow also arranged for Dickinson Avenue to be properly swept, removing leaves and reducing the chance of blocked drains on the road.

HCC has been contacted for comment.
