A Gerrards Cross resident has spoken out about the “dangerous” state of the pavements of a residential road in the village.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that the pavements on Dukes Wood Drive are in an awful state, with many cracks and bumps, which frequently causes problems for pedestrians.
Speaking to CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews, he said: “It’s so dangerous that most elderly people and those pushing pushchairs and wheelchairs are having to walk on the busy road.
“I’ve reported this to the council perhaps 25 times, with very little response or action.”
Councillor Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s cabinet member for transport, said: “We are sorry to hear that some people have been inconvenienced by this damage, which looks to have been caused by tree root movement.
“Technicians have been out to visit the site and a works order has been raised for the repairs to be completed within the next 28 days, in line with normal procedures.
“I would urge people to report issues like this directly to us via www.fixmystreet.com. This is the quickest way to get any problem assessed.”
