TRADITION: Rickmansworth’s fifth French Market flooded with foodies

Published on: 25th October 2019   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Rickmansworth Town Team C.I.C. held its much anticipated fifth French Market recently as traditional French street traders visited the town once again – and it was predictably a hit with residents.

France at Home, a group of traditional French street traders from Dieppe and the surrounding area, visit England on a regular basis to bring the joys of a traditional French Market to the residents of English towns and villages.

The stalls they set up in Rickmansworth High Street on September 28 provided tempting French cuisine as well as bags clothes, bags and other goods.

The food stalls specifically included fresh French bread cooked on site, cheese from France and many other stalls which can be found in a normal market held every day in villages and towns all over France.

The traders set up in Rickmansworth High Street between the junctions of Station Road and Church Street, which were closed between 7am to 7pm to allow two hours at either end of the day for setting up and knocking down of the stalls.

Rickmansworth Town Team is a Community Interest Company staffed by volunteers who work throughout the year to bring events to Rickmansworth for the benefit of local residents. Such events include the Folk Festival in June and the Winter Fair at the end of November.

These events bring footfall to the centre of Rickmansworth and benefit both local residents and local shops, who appreciate the additional flow of customers.
