A born and bred Berkhamsted author is appealing for courageous and brave women to come forward and share their story for an upcoming book.
Cecily Phipps, or to use the name she pens under, Cecily-Josephine Hedigan, would like women who have a story to tell to contact her to include in her new book, Women of Courage.
Speaking to BerkhamstedNews, Cecily said: “This book is for and about modern day women, regular women who have experienced something wonderful or something traumatic or challenging.
“We all have a story to tell, I want this book to inspire women when they read it. I’ve spoken to a lot of women and the stories they’ve told me are both blissful and painful.
“One woman spoke to me about how she was sexually assaulted when she was a child, but she got through it and is now living her life.
“I want women to know that what has happened to them will not define them but reveal them.
“There is nothing better than when you are feeling consumed by something and you go and sit with your friends and you talk about it and eat pizza and drink wine.
“The situation hasn’t changed but you feel like you can take it on because you’ve spoken about it. I understand it’s scary, but I know from personal experience that I sleep better and live authentically.”
Cecily wants women that come forward to know that they are able to write under a different name if using their own its too painful and raw.
