TOP TRAINING: Police train Three Rivers and Watford hospitality staff to help tackle crime

Published on: 6th September 2023   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hospitality staff from across Three Rivers and Watford recently visited Hunton Park Hotel in Hunton Bridge to receive training on how to look out for vulnerable victims.

Organised by the Herts Police Community Safety Unit in Three Rivers staff from hotels such as The Grove, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Travelodge and Hunton Park attended the event on August 10.

During the day, staff learnt from various departments and police partners on topics such as hate crime, child exploitation, and violence against women and girls.

The staff have now been made aware of the warning signs to look out for, how to support any customers who fall victim to these kinds of crimes, and how to follow the right procedure to report them to police.

Posting on social media, Three Rivers Police said: “The training was really well received, and we are pleased that the hotels involved are embracing the training available to them, as it shows their commitment to helping us tackle these types of crimes.

“If you don’t work in the police or safeguarding sector, it can be incredibly daunting when you are faced with the possibility that a child is being exploited or an adult is being abused.”
