Two of Berkhamsted’s green spaces have been recognised with Green Flag Awards.
Both Canal Fields and Rectory Lane Cemetery have been given the award, which is an international accreditation for the best public spaces around the world.
This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of the team responsible for the upkeep of these spaces. Their efforts ensure that these areas remain beautiful, safe and enjoyable for both residents and visitors.
Councillor Robin Bromham, Dacorum Borough Council’s portfolio holder for neighbourhood operations, said: “The recognition of our green spaces with the Green Flag Awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.”
The award is particularly special for Rectory Lane Cemetery, as it is one of only seven graveyards in the country to receive a Green Flag Community Award.
Cemetery ranger Kate Campbell said: “I’m delighted for our volunteer team. It is a labour of love to maintain our three acres with regular work parties mowing the grass, establishing wildflower areas, welcoming visitors, and sustaining the special nature of this space for the community to enjoy.”
