Kings Langley wrestler Joe Le’Vin is celebrating a major career milestone after winning another championship to become a triple title holder.
The 24-year-old won the UBW Legacy Championship from Danny Isit at Ultimate British Wrestling’s Gym Wars 6 event on October 10 in Hitchin. This was a champion versus champion match, where he was defending his Square One Championship.
The victory means Le’Vin – wrestling name The Next In Line, Joe Anthony – now holds three championships across the country, which includes the DOA UK Adrenaline Championship – won in Great Yarmouth on August 15 this year.
Speaking to Abbots&KingsNews, he said: “I’m a bit lost for words still thinking about it. It still hasn’t quite sunk in. It’s a massive deal for me personally.
“I’m looking at them in my cabinet – I can’t believe I’ve got all three. These titles are a big deal for us because it’s a big stamp of approval and proof you’re doing something right.
“Most wrestlers are sadly not fortunate enough to hold one championship in their career, so the fact I have three at one time is a massive deal.”
He added that he wants to share these achievements with the Kings Langley community because of the support he has received throughout his wrestling journey.
Le’Vin has lived in the village for his whole life, as he used to attend Kings Langley Secondary School.
The performer first became interested in wrestling at the age of nine, knowing immediately that it was what he wanted to do, before beginning training at 17.
He began “properly training” to become a pro wrestler at 19, as before he called himself a “backyard wrestler” running matches for YouTube in his garden.
The Covid pandemic has inevitably halted his progress, but that didn’t rule him out of making his first show appearance at 20.
Four years later, Le’Vin is the man to beat – holding three titles that others would only dream of conquering. He trains at Square One Gym in Hitchin, home to an array of professional wrestlers.
His next challenge will be defending his championships at an event in Stevenage on November 7, as he looks to maintain his impressive run of success.
