On Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, Stanborough Primary School hosted their royal celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by enjoying a ‘Royal Afternoon Tea Party” as part of their Wellness Wednesday initiative for the whole school.
Headteacher Tiann Madden said: “To mark HM’s 70 years of reign, the children adorned themselves in jewelled crowns and gowns – they were most certainly dressed to impress, they danced gleefully around the school hall and sang the National Anthem, they all dined like kings and queens. The atmosphere was delightful as the children shared quality time with their peers and teachers.
“Our children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the Queen and her reign in a more detailed way this term and ultimately being part of this historic occasion, which will be talked about for years to come”.
The Royal Tea Party was one of many celebrations leading up to the event. On Friday, May 27th, all children participated in a workshop commemorating the Queen’s service. The penultimate celebration was on Sunday, May 29th, at Stanborough Park, Watford, Garston, from 2 pm -4.30 pm. There was face painting, bouncy castles, food stalls, and an array of children’s activities.
