Police are appealing for witnesses and information as part of continued enquiries into a road traffic collision in Watford where a driver made off from the scene.

The incident occurred on the A405 North Orbital Road, near the junction with Horseshoe Lane, at around 3.10pm on Friday, March 24, and involved a pedestrian and a car.

The pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, sustained breaks to his ankle and leg, as well as significant bruising.

The vehicle, described as being grey in colour, continued travelling in the direction of the M1.

PC Lauren Maberly, who is investigating, said: “Thankfully, the boy’s injuries are not life-threatening and he is continuing to recover.

“We’re currently making enquiries to trace the vehicle involved and the driver. As part of this, we’re appealing for anyone who saw the incident and hasn’t yet spoken to police to please come forward.

“I’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time with an active dashcam. If you have captured any footage which may assist us, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to please contact PC Maberly at lauren.maberly@herts.police.uk.
