THOUGHTFUL IDEA: Chorleywood independent florist started new initiative to thank NHS staff

Published on: 27th May 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Florist Laura Gutlé, known as Grace and Violet, who works from her home in Lower Road, has launched a weekly bouquet delivery service.

People that order flowers can nominate an NHS or key worker to receive a free bouquet as a thank you for their hard work. She then draws a name each week and that person receives a free bouquet.

Laura said: “I think it’s important to show our NHS workers how much we appreciate what they’re doing. They have a tough job at the best of times but it’s at times like these you realise what an amazing and important job they do and how they’re willing to put themselves at risk to help others.

“I came up with the idea when I kept receiving calls from people wanting flowers delivered but I wasn’t able to help due to lockdown, not being able to get hold of flowers as readily as I usually would, and having to homeschool my six year old while looking after my 18 month old.”

Laura, whose background is in marketing, delivers to Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, Little Chalfont, Chalfont St Giles, Chenies and Sarratt.
