A teenager required surgery to remove metal from his head after he was attacked in Bushey and police are appealing for information to catch those responsible. Between 8pm and 9pm on Monday, October 31, in Moatfield Park, Bournehall Lane, a 15 year old boy and three of his friends were involved in an altercation with another larger group. The boy was punched in the face by one of the other group before then being struck on the back of the head with an unknown weapon. PC Stuart Keene, who is investigating, said: “This was an unprovoked attack, which left the victim with a skull fracture and he needed surgery to remove a small piece of metal from his head. Thankfully the teenager is expected to make a full recovery and has been discharged from hospital. “I’m appealing for anyone who may have seen an altercation in the park involving two groups of teenagers or may have seen youths fleeing the scene, or believes they know who is responsible for this attack to contact me via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J2/16/1294.” He added: “Officers are conducting regular patrols in the park and surrounding areas and extensive enquiries are on-going to identify the offenders responsible.”
