Police and paramedics were called to Berkhamsted station at 9.40am this morning (Wednesday, July 30) following reports of a casualty on the track.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Berkhamsted railway station at around 9.40am today following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
According to the BBC, National Rail has said the incident has caused disruption on Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway routes as all lines between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central were closed for several hours.
