A charity golf day last month raised over £25,000 for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC).

The proceeds from the golf day will enable the centre, based at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood, to buy new state-of-the-art canulation chairs for patients.

The annual team Stableford competition was held at Moor Park Golf Club after PSSC was chosen as the Moor Park Captains’ charity of the year.

This year’s event was the biggest yet, with 27 teams taking part. The Chorleywood Chippers were named the winners, with The J2’s in second place and the Chipperfield Choppers in third place.

Former England test cricketer Gladstone Small presented the prizes.

Caroline Wren, PSSC’s senior fundraiser, said: “We had a fantastic turnout. A huge thank you to David Lansdowne and Sue Knight, Captain and Lady Captain at Moor Park Golf Club, for all their help as well as all our supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers for their generosity. A special thanks to Andrew Binstock of Auction House London for running our very successful auction.”
