Abbots Langley’s Police Community Support Officers (PSCOs) have been out and about in the village, visiting local businesses as part of efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour.
PCSOs Burt and Gomm from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) stopped by Katherine Place and Abbots Langley High Street to visit a number of businesses. They aimed to ensure no anti-social behaviour was taking place and to make their presence known in the community.
The visit included a trip to Tesco Express in Leavesden, where staff have reported shoplifting incidents and anti-social behaviour outside the store. Officers gave crime prevention advice on how best to tackle this. As part of efforts to provide an accessible police presence, the area will be included on the team’s regular patrol plans to provide a visual deterrent to thieves.
The patrols coincided with Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, a national campaign highlighting the ongoing work of local police teams in supporting safer communities.
