A local musician recently put on a free classical music concert for the Croxley community to enjoy.
Mirana Faiz, who is originally from Cyprus but now lives in Croxley, held a free concert on Sunday, September 13, in Croxley Hall woods.
As an award-winning musician, Mirana has played at music venues across the globe such as Hong Kong City Hall but wanted to show that music is available to everyone.
She said: “In these challenging times musicians and performers are experiencing difficulties and I wanted to show people that music doesn’t have boundaries.
“We need to save classical music and hold more local events which is why I held the concert in Croxley Hall woods.”
A lot of preparation went into the event, taking over three months to plan with necessary steps such as contacting the council for permission.
The concert was very popular and Mirana said that everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves.
She said: “It was amazing. It was nice to see people’s faces smiling and asking me to play more.”
Mirana added that after the success of the first concert, she is planning to do more in the future.
She said: “I want to do more concerts with different concepts. This was of great interest to people and a lot of people have said they wanted to help me.”
Mirana is also offering piano lessons, abiding by social distancing guidelines, to both beginners and advanced musicians of all ages.
