After winning a competition, an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Kings Langley performed at the Isle of Wight Festival last month.

The Dance-pop artist, Jade Morgan Kelly won the New Blood competition. Hotvox worked with the Isle Of Wight Festival which gave new and emerging talent the opportunity to perform at the iconic festival.

The 21-year-old artist performed alongside six fellow finalists at the competition finals on May 21 and says she was shocked to win as everyone who played that night was incredible, and everyone deserved a chance to be there.

More than 7,000 bands applied for the New Blood competition, which was split into three stages, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals, with one winner performing in front of festival-goers.

Speaking on her win Jade told KingsNews: “It was extremely overwhelming.

“I was standing there with my mum and friends crying because I thought I wasn’t going to get it. My friends, family, and band all worked so hard, and I felt like I let them down and when they said my name, I didn’t know what to do, I just stood there in shock because I really didn’t expect it.

“I’m extremely humbled and overwhelmed that I got the opportunity.

“For a small artist who is unsigned, completely doing it on their own it’s such a great achievement, I’m extremely proud of myself and my band, and everyone who put the effort into it.”

The British music festival takes place annually and runs from June 16 – 19, in Newport with Muse, Kasabian, and Lewis Capaldi headlining.
