A service station that’s been giving fuel to the people of Rickmansworth for over 50 years is hanging up its pumps for good.
The Rickmansworth Service Station is closing down after its current owners, Sharon and Joseph Lewin, have decided to retire, after having run the business for 38 years, taking over from previous owners, Paddy and Audrey.
Speaking about to RICKYnews about the closure, Sharon said: “It’s been a family business since it began in 1970. We’ve just been incredibly proud to have owned a business in the town for that length of time.”
Sharon and Joseph said however that although it’s sad to see the business close, they are looking forward to a happy retirement.
“We thank all of our loyal customers, some of whom have been here since the very beginning, way back in the 70s.”
Many residents have taken to social media to express their sadness at the closure.
