Two pupils at a Chalfont St Peter independent school recently competed in a national athletics tournament.
Tom King and Ruben Baird, from Thorpe House School, both represented the London region in the recent National Prep Schools Athletics Finals, which took place in Nuneaton on Monday, July 3. The event sees independent schools across the UK compete against each other in various athletic sports.
Young athletes have to achieve considerable success in their individual sports and previous competitions in order to qualify for the tournament.
On the day, Tom secured fourth place in the 800 metres final, while Ruben achieved fifth place in the hurdles final.
A spokesperson for Thorpe House said: “Thorpe House boys achieved remarkable success at the recent National Prep School Athletics event. Ruben and Tom proudly represented London, and their mere participation was a significant accomplishment.
“Their outstanding performances leave us eager to witness their future achievements on the track.”
