RUN & RAISE: Michael Sobell hospice puts out appeal for fundraising marathon runners

Published on: 15th January 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Northwood’s Michael Sobell Hospice is asking for people to join its team in this April’s London Landmarks Half Marathon, and many more!

As the local hospice for people in the Hillingdon and North West London area, they’re aiming to raise around £1.9 million to keep their vital services going. NHS funding only accounts for half of the hospice’s annual running costs, so this fundraising is essential to keep future provision of their resources a certainty.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon, taking place this year on April 3, is a closed-road half-marathon that regularly features around 14,000 runners and takes a route around some of the capital’s most famous landmarks, starting at the Pall Mall and finishing at Downing Street.

The hospice is also putting out appeals for anyone interesting in joining their marathon fundraising team and running in races later on this year, such as the world-famous London Marathon, taking place on Sunday, October 2.

There are also places on their team for the Royal Parks Half-Marathon, taking place on October 9 this year. This race follows a route through four of London’s royal parks and around other well-known city landmarks.
