This year’s Watford Community Cup Golf Tournament has raised more than £4,000 for local charities across the town.

Now in its second year, the charity event took place at the Batchworth Park Golf Park overlooking the stunning views of the surrounding Hertfordshire countryside.

The event was hosted by Watford FC’s Luther Blissett OBE DL and Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, in partnership with Everyone Active, Former Players’ Club and Watford Borough Council.

This year’s official sponsors included Murrill Construction Ltd, All Star Logistics and Nine Group.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “I’m immensely grateful to everyone who took part in our second successful Charity Golf Day. This year’s donations will go a long way to support local people during these difficult times.

“Thank you to our sponsors Murrill Construction, Nine Group and Allstar Logistics Limited, their contributions are much appreciated. Also, a special thank you to the team at Batchworth Park Golf Course and Everyone Active for helping coordinate the day and ensuring it was an enjoyable experience for everyone”.

Matthew Mason at Murrill Construction Limited said: “We are privileged to have sponsored the Mayors Golf Day for a second year running. The turnout on its own should be testament to all the good going on in the borough and we will continue to support the mayor, his charities and the residents of Watford for the coming years”.

Aruman Hind at Nine Group: “We take great pride in being able to sponsor our Mayor with the community and social events. We had a great time at the fundraiser and look forward to being a part of many more in the future.’

Minesh Patel at Allstar Logistics Limited said: “It was a pleasure for Allstar Logistics Ltd to sponsor and take part in the recent fundraising event at Batchworth Park. Along with my old acquaintance Luther Blissett, we managed to invite a few other colleagues to attend which also helped with the fundraising efforts. Thanks to the other sponsors and everyone that helped organise the day, we look forward to being involved in future events”.
