Primary schools and youth groups are set to take centre stage at this year’s Croxley Green Annual Home and Produce Annual Show next month.
10 different groups were given a bucket in which to plant potatoes of their choice. On the afternoon of the show, the children will empty their buckets and the bucket with the heaviest crop of spuds wins the Potato Bucket Trophy for the first time.
There’s a new exhibit in floral arrangements is Love Love Me Do, an arrangement based on a song or lyric by The Beatles while the men only baking challenge this year is a Bakewell tart.
There are 152 different classes of entries. If you are interested in entering the show, look at the schedule at www.croxleygreenshow.co.uk. Paper copies are also available from Croxley Green library, the Croxley Green Parish Council office and committee members.
Categories you and your family can enter include vegetables, fruit, flowers, handicrafts, floral arrangements, baking, homemade liqueur, childrens’ classes and photography. There is something for everybody!
The date of this year’s show is Saturday September 8 at Yorke Mead primary school in Dulwich Way. Doors open to the public at 2:30. Prize Giving 4:30.
