STEALING THE SHOW: Filming disruption causing havoc for Croxley residents

Published on: 4th February 2025   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

With its beautiful scenery, it’s no surprise that a filming company would select Croxley for their new project, yet residents are growing increasingly concerned about disruptions.

While many are excited about recognising their local haunts on their telly, councillors are calling for a review on how filming is managed.

Frustrated residents have shared concerns about blocked driveways, large crews, lack of parking, and late-night activities by filming crews.

Dickinsons Ward councillor Chris Mitchell has pledged to raise these concerns with the relevant authorities to push for a more balanced approach that considers both residents and the film industry.

He said: “I fully understand the frustration of residents who feel that their streets are being taken over without sufficient notice or consideration.

“While filming can bring economic benefits, it should not come at the cost of residents’ quality of life. We need a fairer process that prioritises clear communication, better parking management, and limits on repeated filming in the same areas.”

On Tuesday, January 28, Dickinsons Ward councillor Narinder Sian spoke live on BBC Three Countries Radio about the impact of recent filming.

He shared: “While it’s fantastic to see our community featured on screen and some local businesses benefiting from the increased footfall, I know many residents and businesses have raised concerns about parking, congestion, and lack of notice.

“I highlighted the need for better communication, a more joined-up approach between councils, and greater consideration for residents when filming takes place.”
